The history of PTFE anti-corrosion products

Chemical production plants are carried out under certain temperature and pressure conditions, and the process requirements are strict. The raw materials involved include various gases, liquids, and solids, with various physical properties, requiring various types of production equipment. However, these equipments in contact with the medium are corroded every moment in the production, thus seriously restricting the development of the chemical industry and other industries. In the case of underdeveloped technology, people are always looking for anti-corrosion agents in metals. But these devices tend to be expensive and don't solve a lot of corrosion problems. After that, people began to explore the use of non-metallic resources to replace metals. The first application of plastics in my country is polytetrafluoroethylene, followed by fluoroplastics such as polytetrafluoroethylene, polytrifluoroethylene, polyperfluoroethylene propylene, and thermoplastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and ABS.

With the advancement of science and technology, the development of anti-corrosion equipment made of traditional corrosion-resistant non-metallic materials has become more and more perfect, and new types of corrosion-resistant non-metallic materials are constantly emerging. In the wave of using new technologies and new materials to develop new anti-corrosion products, PTFE anti-corrosion products stand out and develop rapidly. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE for short) has high chemical stability, it can resist almost all commonly used strong corrosive and oxidative chemicals, and also has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, so it is an ideal anti-corrosion material. Through the research of processing and forming technology, the application of PTFE anti-corrosion products in industry is becoming more and more extensive.

PTFE anti-corrosion products can replace a large number of alloy material products, increase the working capacity of equipment, reduce downtime and maintenance, and are a kind of corrosion-resistant products with great development potential.
